چکیده
Third-generation geostationary meteorological satellites (GEOs), such as Himawari-8/9 Advanced Himawari Imager (AHI), Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES)-R Series Baseline (ABI), and Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) Flexible Combined (FCI), provide advanced imagery atmospheric measurements of the Earth’s weather, oceans, terrestrial environments at high-frequency intervals. GEOs also significantly improve capabilities by increasing number observation bands suitable for environmental change detection. This review focuses on enhanced contribution third-generation disaster monitoring risk mitigation, focusing environment monitoring. In addition, to demonstrate collaboration between Low Earth orbit (LEOs) supporting information fine-spatial-resolution observations required in event a disaster, landfall Typhoon No. 19 Hagibis 2019, which caused tremendous damage Japan, is used case study.

Smart Disaster Management Solutions for Risk Mitigation and Preparedness in Tehran, Iran
Background and objective The city of Tehran is facing serious challenges in the field of disaster management due to high population densities and being in a natural disaster-prone area. This study aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses (internal factors) and the opportunities and threats (external factors) of crisis management in Tehran at the stages of risk mitigation and preparedness, ...
متن کاملComprehensive Disaster Risk Management Standards for Hospitals
Background and Objective: Hospitals play an important role in protecting the health and survival of people during disasters. Despite the development of risk management programs worldwide in recent years, hospital preparedness in disasters is low and one reason for that is the lack of hospital standards for disaster preparedness. This study aims to develop hospital accreditation standards for ho...
متن کاملLetter to the Editor: Application of Haddon Matrix in Disaster Management: A New Window in Disaster Mitigation Risk
In recent years, disaster management has been the focus of attention since disasters have been associated with huge destructions and consequences. Basically, disaster management techniques aim at the prevention and mitigation works as well as promotion of resilience. Haddon’s matrix was proposed as a conceptual model to understand the event and provide preventive measures in the field of injur...
متن کاملDisaster management and mitigation: the telecommunications infrastructure.
Among the most typical consequences of disasters is the near or complete collapse of terrestrial telecommunications infrastructures (especially the distribution network--the 'last mile') and their concomitant unavailability to the rescuers and the higher echelons of mitigation teams. Even when such damage does not take place, the communications overload/congestion resulting from significantly e...

Based on a novel bare surface soil moisture (SSM) retrieval model developed from the synergistic use of the diurnal cycles of land surface temperature (LST) and net surface shortwave radiation (NSSR) (Leng et al. 2014. “Bare Surface Soil Moisture Retrieval from the Synergistic Use of Optical and Thermal Infrared Data”. International Journal of Remote Sensing 35: 988–1003.), this paper mainly in...
